IT’S A WRAP – IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE!
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PROJECT FOR PERSIMMON

Persimmon homes’ Abrahams Way development in Telford, Shropshire might be a close neighbour of ours location-wise, but it still required our expertise in ‘just-in-time’ supply and delivery to meet the deadlines for this development of 114 new homes. It was an exciting project for us as it is part of the Ironstone Scheme – a sustainable community in a village setting. Ironstone is a key scheme for the national regeneration agency English Partnerships which will create 20% of the growth in new homes required in Telford up to 2018. The site comprised 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom homes and National Hickman supplied the I-joist system (including chipboard flooring, glues and ironmongery) throughout the site, as well as the door kit solution (door, frames and ironmongery) and our Fibercill MDF moulding solution. These were all supplied within a 5-7 day lead-time on demand from the site.

There was an added twist to the project when we decided to use the site on a photoshoot for our new web site! We persuaded Sean Rowley, one of the experienced carpenters there, to pose for the cameras only to discover that back in 2004 he used to work in the National Hickman Doorkit Department before joining Persimmon on one of their apprenticeship schemes. What better endorsement of our products is there than having someone who used to make our products actually fitting them for one of the country’s leading housebuilders!

Thanks go to Sean, the site management and team on the site.
