Following the successful launch of the Roofspace ‘I Roof’ roofing system, National Hickman together with its strategic partner Roofspace solutions are requiring an increase in production levels that have resulted in plans to treble production capacity by April 2012 with an extra 56,ooo sqft of factory space in Wolverhampton and an increase in the workforce to 30. In the second half of this year, a new production line will be commissioned at our Scottish division in Glenrothes, enabling Roofspace solutions to supply and install the Roofspace ‘I Roof’ system into Scotland and the north of England more cost effectively. Our very first report was published back in May 2010, when we were forecasting softwood supply shortages and significant price increases caused by reduced productivity in mills, following the pattern of recession together with a weakening Pound. The report also noted the rising demand for wood as a result of Government incentives to combat climate change through the use of wood as a source of renewable energy in biomass plants, which was a cause for concern.
